Splash Mist Softimage shader

Hey all

So i been trying to come up with a nice shader for the grid fluid splash in softimage. i been using the volume shader and anything i come up with is to smoke like. Does anyone have any suggestions or directions i should go in?

to this point i have been using a combination to come up with different results ...

1. I use renderkit when possible
2. sometimes I render geometry for the points ... spheres w/ extremely small radius and then apply a reverse incidence shader on them. You need a huge amount fo particles for this.
3. Occasionaly i use the ice particle renderer
4. Sometimes I try the emRPC plugin from Eric Mootz (good for OGL shadowing)

I have gotten decent results but nothing spectacular. I'd be interested in what other people have come up with as well.
